Andrei Arshavin has told Zenit St Petersburg he wants to prove his ability at a top European club.

Andrei Arshavin has told Zenit St Petersburg he wants to prove his ability at a top European club.

Zenit are understood to be in discussions with Arsenal regarding a possible £21million deal, but the move is thought to have stalled because the Russian club want the fee paid in one bulk sum.
Arshavin has been persistently linked with a move away from the UEFA Cup holders after impressing at Euro 2008, but a possible summer transfer to Barcelona collapsed amidst rumours of a high wage demands and Zenit's refusal to alter their valuation.

However, the playmaker - who has also been linked with Tottenham in the past - remains keen on a move elsewhere and the 27-year-old has reiterated his desire demonstrate his skills at an elite club.

"I want to play at a good European club and I want to prove how good I am," he told the Daily Mail.

Arshavin recognises that it is unlikely Zenit will ever rival become a giant on the continent and has hinted that the club should not stand in the way of players if they want to leave.

"I think it is a distant prospect that Zenit will ever be as big as the likes of Real Madrid or Juventus," he added.

"It will take some time and Zenit must win many titles first. But recently the club have been progressing.

"The main thing is that the management should have willingness and players should be provided with opportunities."

LONDON — Manchester City’s owner Shaikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan (left), UAE’s Minister for Presidential Affairs, is the richest man in British football with Chelsea’s Roman Abramovich down to third place in FourFourTwo magazine’s annual Rich List published on Wednesday.

Abu Dhabi’s Shaikh Mansour, 38, took over at City in September, is estimated to be worth 15 billion pounds ($21.86 billion). That is more than twice as much as Russian Abramovich, 42, who slips from first to third spot on seven billion pounds.
Another new entry at number two is the Indian-born Lakshmi Mittal, worth 12.5 billion pounds. He joined Formula One’s Bernie Ecclestone and Flavio Briatore by investing in Championship (second division) side Queen’s Park Rangers.

England manager Fabio Capello is also a new entry. The Italian is worth 25 million pounds and is joint 73rd on the list, with a six million pounds a year contract and a 10 million pounds private art collection.

Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson is at number 78 with 22 million pounds while Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger is at 92 with 14 million.

Among other big changes are Manchester United owner Malcolm Glazer’s slide from fourth to a tie for 10th, Irish businessman Dermot Desmond, owner of Celtic, slipping from third to eighth, and Aston Villa owner Randy Lerner dropping from seventh to 15th — all largely because of the arrival of new investors such as Shaikh Mansour, Mittal, Ecclestone, Arsenal’s Stan Kroenke (sixth) and Alisher Usmanov (seventh).

Glazer and his sons own English and European champion Manchester United and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and have 1.1 billion pounds ($1.63 billion). Lerner owns Villa and the Cleveland Browns and is estimated to have 750 million pounds ($1.1 billion).

David Beckham is the highest listed player connected with British football even though he last played for an English team five years ago before moving to Real Madrid and then the Los Angeles Galaxy. Currently on loan to AC Milan, the England midfielder has 125 million pounds ($185 million) for 38th place on the list.

Spurs & Liverpool Lead Race For £3million Spanish Winger?

Spurs & Liverpool Lead Race For £3million Spanish Winger?

Premier League clubs Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool are both chasing the signature of Spanish winger Angel Lafita at Deportivo La Coruna, according to The People.
24-year-old Lafita has become the subject of interest of a number of sides, with West Ham and Manchester United also linked with the Spaniard, who has scored 5 goals in 8 La Liga appearances for Depor after coming back from some injury problems at the start of the season.

However, United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has declared that the Premiership Champions transfer business for January was finished after the double signing of Serbian pair Zoran Tosic and Adem Ljalic from Partizan Belgrade. Hammers boss Gianfranco Zola has to sell before he can bring fresh faces into Upton Park, which leaves Spurs and the Reds to fight it out for Lafita.
Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez had hinted on Friday that it would be difficult and expensive to find players at the right price to improve the squad at Anfield, with Lafita an attractive proposition for the Merseyside club as he is valued at around £3million by Depor.

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp sees the Spanish winger as an alternative to main target Stewart Downing at Middlesbrough, with Lafita’s modest price tag also something to consider for the Spurs manager in his pursuit of a left-sided player to bring to White Hart Lane.
Lafita, is under contract at the Riazor until 2012, but has made no secret of his desire to play for a bigger club, with it understood that El Turco will allow the midfielder to leave Spain if their valuation is met by either Premier League club.

United Boss Ferguson: Nerves Will Get To Liverpool In Title Race

United Boss Ferguson: Nerves Will Get To Liverpool In Title Race

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has fired the first shot to counterpart Rafa Benitez at Liverpool, with the United boss claiming that the Reds “will get nervous” as they look to close in on their first Premier League title this season.

Although the Red Devils trail Liverpool by 7 points as the Premiership enters into its first round of fixtures in 2009, Ferguson insists that the experience of bringing the title back to Old Trafford in the past two seasons will stand the Champions in good stead.

If Man United win their two games in hand they will be just a point behind the Merseyside club, with Ferguson knowing what it takes to win the Premier League from behind, having trailed Arsenal last season at this point and going on to win the Premiership.

Ferguson feels that the pressure of Liverpool trying to land their first top-flight title since 1990, will make the Anfield side nervous as they venture into the unknown and that if Benitez’s side make mistakes in the run-in they could be punished for them.

“There’s no doubt that in the second half of the season they will get nervous,” said Ferguson.
“With the experience we’ve got, having won a couple of titles in the past couple of years especially, it helps you.

“There’s no doubt about that. They’re going into the unknown, and if you make mistakes, then you get punished.”

‘New Bergkamp’ Signs For Arsenal

‘New Bergkamp’ Signs For Arsenal

Sensational teenager Jack Wilshere has signed a long-term deal at Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal.
The 17-year-old versatile midfielder, who has been hailed by Wenger as the future Dennis Bergkamp, has been part of the Gunners’ first-team squad this season.

The England youth international has made seven appearances so far this season for Wenger’s side and his performances have caught the eye of the Gunners as well as Three Lions fans.
Arsenal’s Premiership rivals Chelsea and Italian giants Inter Milan were reported to be keeping an eye on Wilshere and the north-London club have moved to tie down the exciting prospect at the Emirates Stadium on his first professional contract.

"I believe he will end up a central midfielder, just off the striker in the Bergkamp role," Wenger said of Wilshere, who has been at Arsenal since the age of nine, last month.
Arsenal said in a statement: "Everyone at the club is looking forward to Jack’s continued contribution and development with Arsenal in the forthcoming years."

Arsenal, Man City & Real On Alert As Tevez Claims He Will Quit United If He Has To

Arsenal, Man City & Real On Alert As Tevez Claims He Will Quit United If He Has To

Carlos Tevez has shrouded more doubt on his future at Manchester United, with the striker claiming that despite wanting to stay at Old Trafford he will quit the club if he has to.
24-year-old Tevez has been at the Premier League Champions since joining from West Ham in 2007, with United now having to pay the agreed £32million for the Argentine International’s registration.

Tevez has come out and refuted Red Devils manager Sir Alex Ferguson’s comments that the striker had rejected an offer from United, with Tevez dismayed that the saga has already dragged on for a year-and-a-half.

“I didn't like him (Ferguson) saying I didn't like the offer I was made because neither my agent nor me were given one,” Tevez told Radio del Plata.

“I don't know anything on my future. United know what they must pay (£32m) if they want me to stay.

“I want to stay but the club have not made any offer. I've been waiting for them for a year and a half.

"If I have to quit the club, I want to quit on good terms."
Amidst the speculation La Liga giants Real Madrid along with Arsenal and Manchester City have shown an interest in Tevez, with the Argentine claiming that he would sign for another club if they offered him a five-year contract.

“Now all clubs are on an equal footing. If a club comes to me and offers me a five-year deal, I will accept it for peace of mind,” he added.

“I will sign my last contract, and then I figure that I'll go back to Boca (Juniors.) That could be in four or five years.”

“I want everybody to know no offer has been made. I don't like that they are playing with our fans, who show their love to me in each match.”

LAPORAN TERKINI FUTSAL

Chelsea Agree To Let Wayne Bridge Go To Man City In £12million Deal

Manchester City have reportedly agreed to sign Wayne Bridge for a £12million fee from Chelsea.
The City of Manchester Stadium side looks set to welcome the English international left-back to the squad as the Eastlands club's first signing of the January transfer window.
The 28-year-old who joined the Blues in 2003 has failed to maintain his place in the Blues side with Ashley Cole being the first-choice following his arrival from Arsenal in 2006.
Bridge will be traveling to City to hold talks regarding personal terms as City boss Mark Hughes looks set to bolster the club early in the winter transfer window.

Liverpool Set To Sign Icelandic Starlet?

Liverpool Set To Sign Icelandic Starlet?

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is reportedly close to bringing a talented midfield starlet in the form of Victor Palsson, to Anfield.
The Reds, according to a report on Setanta.com, are set to sign the teenage Icelander subject to medical.

Benitez has regularly bolstered the youth ranks at the Merseyside club and with the reportedly imminent addition of the 18-year-old, is set to have a strong group of talented youngsters at his disposal with the likes of Nabil El Zhar getting first-team squad chances this season.
Palsson, plays for Danish side AGF’s first-team and is under contract at the club until 2010 and is valued in the region of £100,000. The midfielder is said to have impressed the Anfield boss during a trial at Melwood training ground back in October and now looks set to join the Premier League club.

Liverpool Boss Benitez’s Joy On ‘Very Cheap Signings’

Liverpool Boss Benitez’s Joy On ‘Very Cheap Signings’

Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez has said that the fit-again trio of Fernando Torres, Fabio Aurelio and Martin Skrtel, are like new signings as the Premiership leaders enter the second half of the season with FA Cup third round clash with Preston North End on Saturday.
Spanish striker Torres had been out with a hamstring problem since November 26, but despite the absence of last season’s top-scorer, the Reds have maintained their title challenge.
Defender Skrtel (knee) and full-back Aurelio (calf) also boost the Reds after their injury problems while the transfer window has just opened, giving Benitez the feel of having three new signings at his disposal.

"They have been very good players for us in the past, so it'll be like signing three new players," said Benitez.

"They are very cheap signings because we haven't spent much money!"

On whether he wants to raid the ongoing transfer market, the Spanish tactician said: "If we need something we will try. But we are in a good position and we'll try to use the players we have now."

Wenger: Eduardo Not Ready To Return For Arsenal FA Cup Clash

Wenger: Eduardo Not Ready To Return For Arsenal FA Cup Clash

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that Croatian International striker Eduardo is not ready to return to action for the Gunners in their FA Cup third round clash with Championship side Plymouth Argyle on Saturday.
25-year-old Eduardo made his comeback after breaking his leg in February for the Premier League club in a reserve match against Portsmouth last month. The Brazilian-born forward played 45 minutes of the clash before being taken off at halftime as a precaution with a slight hamstring problem.

However, Wenger has insisted that Eduardo will be back playing for Arsenal by the end of January and that the former Dinamo Zagreb player is keen for a return to action at the Emirates Stadium as soon as the striker regains full fitness.
Wenger said: “Eduardo will not come back yet. It is still a bit early because he has to get his fitness back.

“He is fantastically keen and a dream to work with but when you have been out for nine months it takes some time to come back to your best form.”
It is thought that Wenger will utilise his squad against Plymouth on Saturday, with the Frenchman likely to play his fringe players against a side that is 15th in the Championship.

Wenger - My long-term future is at Arsenal

Wenger - My long-term future is at Arsenal

By Declan Taylor

Arsène Wenger has rubbished speculation linking him with Real Madrid and reiterated that he has a “long-term future” at Arsenal.Wenger has been in North London for over 12 years and will take charge of his 705th game in charge against Plymouth on Saturday. And, speaking at Friday’s pre-match press conference, the manager confirmed that he has no intention of moving on just yet. When asked about reports linking him with the top job at the Bernabeu the Frenchman ruled out any move away from Emirates Stadium and insisted he was happy to work within the “restrictions” in place at his current club. “I believe I have shown my commitment to this Club,” said Wenger.

“I accepted when we built the new stadium to stay to commit my long-term future to the Club under restrictions. “I don’t think anyone can doubt my commitment here. You can question my decisions and I accept that, but not my commitment.“No [no one has spoken to my representatives], because I represent myself.”

Real Madrid move for Arsenal’s Wenger

Real Madrid move for Arsenal’s Wenger

Is Arsene Wenger ready to call time on the Gunners?

According to The Mirror, Real Madrid have offered Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger €26 million to become their head coach next summer.
Juande Ramos, who was sacked by Tottenham Hotspur in October, is currently in charge at the Santiago Bernabeu, but his contract lasts only until the end of the season.
Thus, unless the former Sevilla boss turns around the Merengues’ domestic form in remarkable fashion, or leads them to a 10th European Cup triumph, a new gaffer will be required. And who better to take the reins in Spain than a man who has been approached for the job three times in the past?

Usually, this rumor would be a non-starter due to the fact Wenger has never broken a contract and has more than two years remaining on his current deal at Ashburton Grove. But the Frenchman’s position is under close scrutiny for perhaps the first time since he succeeded caretaker Pat Rice following Bruce Rioch’s departure in 1996.

At the halfway point of the season, Arsenal are all but out of contention for the Premier League title. They sit fifth in the standings, 10 points behind leaders Liverpool.

Furthermore, Wenger’s reluctance to delve into the transfer market for experienced, top-drawer talent has left sections of the club’s fans fuming – especially after the departures of Gilberto Silva, Mathieu Flamini, Lassana Diarra and Aleksandr Hleb in recent times.
Combine all that with the behind-the-scenes unrest which is rocking the Emirates at the moment, and The Professor may well decide to pull up anchor and sail off on an Iberian adventure.

Wenger is Arsenal’s most successful manager, having collected three Premier League crowns and four FA Cups during his 12-year tenure.

Perlawanan Futsal di tahun baru.

Assalamualaikum

Malah terdapat pemain-pemain kita bertaraf antarabangsa seperti Mokhtar Dahari, Soh Chin Aun, Azizol Abu Hanifah, Ghani Minhat, Arumugam(spiderman) dan lain-lain.

Fikir-fikirkan...

[sunting] Penglibatan Dalam Bola Sepak
Kelebihan dimiliki ‘Supermokh’ banyak dengan sepakan deras bak peluru menjadi elemen penting hinggakan tiga jari mendiang R Arumungam, bekas penjaga gol negara pernah patah ketika cuba menampannya.

Hassan Sani

Man United’s Rooney Predicts Three-Way Title Race

Man United’s Rooney Predicts Three-Way Title Race

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney believes the title race will be contested between Sir Alex Ferguson’s men, Liverpool and Chelsea as he appeared to have written off Arsenal, who apparently face a challenge from Aston Villa for the top-four finish.
Rafa Benitez’s Reds are top of the table with Luiz Felipe Scolari’s Blues three points behind in the second place after 20 Premiership games. United are third with two games in hand and if the Red Devils win those they would close the gap on the leaders to just a point.
Arsene Wenger’s Gunners are fourth but Martin O’Neill’s Villa are tied on same number of points as the north-Londoners and have a game in hand.

"I think we are in a good position. We would have liked to have played those two matches in hand but we've got them to come," said England international Rooney.
"If we can get some good results in those games we would be in a really good position.
"You can never write Arsenal off and they are a good team and Aston Villa are doing well as well but in the end I think it will be down to one of the top three."

Arshavin Coming to Emirates?

Arsenal could be moving in for a January swoop for Zenit St Petersburg star Andrei Arshavin, as the Gunners are searching for a creative midfielder.
Currently the player is being targeted by quite a number of club including La Liga champions Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur, however they both are known to have failed in their bids to sign the 27-year-old.

With Cesc Fabregas, Theo Walcott and Tomas Rosicky all out with injuries, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is desperately looking to get in an energetic and creative man to play in the centre and the Russian international could be the perfect option.
However Wenger claimed that he does not want to talk about his list of targets for the January transfer window.

"I don't need to announce a name," Wenger told French television channel Canal Plus.
"Because when you do that there is 50 per cent less chance of making the signing. But I need a creative midfielder and eventually another midfielder, because we are short."

Aku Dah pesan jangan minum arak..Degil!! Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard charged Tuesday with assault

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard charged Tuesday with assault
Buzz Up
LONDON - Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard was charged with assault by police early Tuesday over an alleged brawl outside a bar that left a disk jockey hospitalized with facial injuries.
The England international - hailed as one of the world's best midfielders - was charged with two other men almost 24 hours after they were arrested in the seaside town of Southport, a police spokesman told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity in line with official policy.
The 28-year-old Gerrard had been celebrating Liverpool's emphatic 5-1 victory at Newcastle on Sunday that extended the club's lead atop the Premier League to three points.
He was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and affray - an offence that carries a maximum five-year prison sentence - and released on bail to appear in court on Jan. 23, 2009 with John Doran, 29, and Ian Smith, 19, who were charged with the same offences.
Three other men, who were arrested with Gerrard at 2:30 a.m. GMT Monday morning, were released without charge on police bail pending further inquiries.
Liverpool, which next faces Preston on Saturday in the FA Cup, made no comment on the incident.

In the altercation outside the Lounge Inn, the bar's 34-year-old DJ had a tooth broken and sustained cuts to his forehead, although he was later released from hospital, a police official said on condition of anonymity as he was not authorized to release the information.
Officers only began interviewing the suspects Monday afternoon and Gerrard's wife Alex Curran was seen near the police station but drove off without answering reporters' questions.
Spots of blood and shards of broken glass were visible on the floor of the venue, which was closed Monday.

Southport is less than 15 kilometres from Gerrard's home of Formby in Merseyside.
The other men arrested, who are not believed to be footballers, were from the Huyton area of Merseyside, where Gerrard was brought up and spotted by Liverpool scouts at the age of eight while playing for Whiston Juniors.
Gerrard is Liverpool's most influential player and crucial to its bid to win the English league title for the first time since 1990, scoring twice and setting up another goal in Sunday's victory at Newcastle

Manager Rafa Benitez hailed his captain's maturity last month.
"He is an example to everyone," Benitez said. "He always trains hard and is a good professional. He is always committed on the pitch, it is a kind of leadership that all captains should aspire to."
Gerrard, who has played 70 matches for England, led Liverpool to the Champions League title in 2005, which prompted his appointment as a Member of the Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace.

His status as one of the world's best midfielders was recognized by his fellow international professionals in October when he was named in FIFPro's team-of-the-year lineup.

United 1 Middlesbrough 0

The year 2008 has been good to United. And while this may not have been the most glamorous way to round it all off, it was a wholly one-sided victory which suggests that trophies are very much there to be won in 2009.United ended the match just shy of 30 attempts on goal, compared with half a dozen half-chances for Middlesbrough, who held on until the second half, but were merely delaying the inevitable.

Dimitar Berbatov’s poked volley earned the breakthrough with 20 minutes to go in a match that saw enough chances to win several football matches - which may be of slight concern to Sir Alex. Most importantly, however, United pecked away at Liverpool’s lead, which now stands at seven points, with two games in hand.Sir Alex, as expected at this time of year, shuffled his pack. Rafael came in for Gary Neville, Michael Carrick replaced Paul Scholes, Ji-sung Park stepped in for Ryan Giggs and Dimitar Berbatov was favoured over United’s match-winner three days earlier at the Britannia Stadium, Carlos Tevez, who was rested completely.

qThe Reds started the night three matches behind the title rivals, but an imposing ten-point deficit on league leaders Liverpool, who put five past Newcastle at the weekend. United’s task, therefore, was laid out in simple terms – win, no matter in what fashion – but it’s rarely that straightforward against a Middlesbrough team with a penchant for raising their game against the Reds. The Christmas period has been relatively kind to United, with Liverpool and Chelsea both dropping points while the Reds were away

Arsenal 1 - Portsmouth 0 : 'It was important for the belief of our team'

'It was important for the belief of our team'

On picking up three much-needed points…“Yes it was a big three points for us because we gave a lot physically but in the end only got a disappointing point at Villa. It was important to get the three points today because recently, no matter what we do, we are always reading bad headlines. It is important for the belief of our team to come away with three points today.

On his side’s performance…“We were intelligent, mature and we didn’t make mistakes. In the end we won the game against a Portsmouth side who defended very deep and very well. I believe that, in the end, it was difficult to create chances but we had one or two good chances that got us the win.

”On William Gallas’ happy knack of scoring important goals…“He can turn up on a set-piece and get goals. He started as a striker and he looks the most likely to score from set-pieces because he has the timing of the run and you cannot give that; you either have it or you don’t. He has good timing to attack the ball.

On Gallas’ future at Emirates Stadium…“First of all we don’t want to sell anybody and secondly I think that he answers everybody by the quality of his performances on the pitch. That is what you want to do when you are a great player.

”On the importance of getting back into the top four…“You could see again today with Chelsea drawing at Fulham that it is difficult for everybody. I believe everybody will drop points now at the beginning of the year. The other three will play against each other so for us we just need to be consistent.

On six games without defeat…“It would be a long way but now we just have to reduce the gap before we speak about the championship. In the last six games we have won three and draw three and out of the three draws we were leading in every single game, against Liverpool, Middlesbrough and Villa, and the teams won’t always come back to us. It is important that we keep going as we go. The team is maturing quickly and has shown great mental strength in the last six weeks.”

Newcastle 1 - Liverpool 5

Can Liverpool Beat Man United, Chelsea & Arsenal To The Title? Henry Says Why Not?

According to Thierry Henry, Liverpool’s confidence that they can win the Premiership title this season must have certainly been boosted after their victories over defending champions Manchester United and formidable Chelsea.
The Reds are currently equal on points with leaders Chelsea, and are being rated as title contenders by many. And former Arsenal star, Henry is one of them.
The Barcelona and France striker believes the Reds and of course all other three members of the top-four, are in the title race.
"Of course Liverpool can win the league," Henry is quoted as saying in The Sun.
"They have the quality to do it, just like Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea.
"I always follow the Premier League. If you ask me if Liverpool can do it then I say, why not?
"It will be difficult but if you look at what's happened so far, then you see that Liverpool have won the games they never used to win.
"They hadn't beaten Manchester United for a very long time and they've also won at Stamford Bridge.
"Those are the kind of games that give you the confidence that you can win the league.
"The thing that has let Liverpool down in the last few years - and the reason they haven't won the league - is that they weren't beating the top four teams. Now they are."
